What are key formats and counters

In the key formats and counters module, you can edit document counters and key formats (how a number is composed).

Key formats and counters are for setting the length and so-called mask of numbers on documents such as customers, invoices, orders and packing slips. For example, for orders you can set the order number to always start with the letters RO (rental orders) and then a 5-character number sequence. The mask will then look like this: O@5. The value at counter indicates the number of the last document in the series.

Be careful when using this module. Normally these settings are done prior to using RentMagic.
