Objects tab

Objects are the keys that can be used to record information in orders.

From the Objects tab it is possible to create dimensional objects directly. You can also do this for clients from the client card itself. Objects are the real objects of a certain dimension as known to the customer. When populating the objects you will see that in addition to the standard fields that are important for an object, extra fields are also displayed. These are the fields you have defined in the fields module.

It is not mandatory to specify a customer when creating an object. If a customer is not selected, the object is used as a system wide object, which you can use for all customers. So the object is not specifically intended for one customer.

Objects can be constructed in a so-called tree structure. It is then possible to create a certain hierarchy on larger environments, where several dimension objects may be used. This makes it easier to select a dimension object during the ordering process. Without this tree structure, the overview would soon be lost.

New object

You can enter the object as if it were a main object. After you have saved the object, you will see that the object is placed under the main object. This structure is infinite and you create as many as you wish.

To create a new object:

The details form for creating a new object is displayed.

  • Please fill in all fields as completely as possible.
  • If you want to create the object as a selectable object:
    • Ensure that the field Is selectable is enabled. The object can then be seen as selectable to actually indicate in the order process.
  • If you want to create the object as part of the tree structure (category) of the objects but it is not directly selectable:
    • Ensure that the field Is selectable is disabled. The object is then seen as a category and cannot be selected directly, but it is visible in the order process.

The object or category has been created.

An object, or sub-object, does not always have to be used during the ordering process. At that moment it is important to indicate that it is not an object. You can do this by switching off the field is selectable. For example, a department with people under it would mean that the department itself is not an object, but the people under it are. You therefore need to define them in this way.

Adjusting an object

To change an existing object:

  • Use the filter to search for a specific object using a keyword.
  • Double-click the respective object in the overview.

The details form opens.

  • Adjust the fields you want to change and check the other information.
  • Click Save in the action bar to save the data. The data is active immediately.

If you change the object, you can also change all relevant fields. It is also possible to link an object that is not linked to a customer to a specific customer at a later stage. Please note that this may affect the renting process. Customer information, especially dimension information, may look different.

Deleting an object

If an object is no longer used, you can delete it. Historical data in orders will still be saved. However, the object will no longer be shown during the ordering process.

To delete an object:

  • Use the filter to search for a specific object using a keyword.
  • Select the object in the overview.
  • Click Delete in the action bar.
  • Confirm the notification.
